Holiday Soup MixHoliday Soup Mix
Wash 1 lb.beans,place in lg.kettle,cover with water 2" above bean line. Add 2 tbsp. salt, soak overnight. Drain in the morning. Add 2 qts. water, 2 ham hocks or piece of ham.
Bring to a boil, add 1 lg onion, 1-16 oz can tomatoes, 1 tsp. chili powder, juice of a lemon & pepper to taste. Simmer 3 hr or in Crock Pot: 3 hr- high or 5 hr low. Remove ham from hock before serving. Makes 4 quarts.

1 1/2 cups Water 1 cup Milk 3/4 cup Creamy Brown & Wild Rice Soup Mix Pour water and milk into a heavy bottomed kettle or double boiler; add the soup mix and stir.
