The Prime Rib, also known as a Standing Rib Roast or Ribeye Roast, is a fine-grain primal cut of meat from our grass fed cows. Our butchers can prepare this cut for you in many different ways. It can be ordered by selecting the number of ribs or the number of pounds needed for your meal. Our butcher leaves the bones fully attached to the roast for a lovely boost of flavor. This cut is trimmed of excess fat and can be cut in any size from 4-15lbs.
When buying a large Bone In Prime Rib figure on 1lb per person. A 4-bone prime rib will feed 6-8 people. If you have some bone lovers in your group, you may want to roast an extra rack of beef bones so that everyone at your party gets a bone. A full prime rib roast consists of 7 bones total and will be enough to feed 14 or more people.
All of our cows here at John Henry's are grass-fed and grass-finished. We raise them locally on our family farm, and they are never given any hormones or antibiotics. Our fields and feed are never exposed to harsh chemicals or pesticides. Our cows are pasture raised and love to spend their days being outside with either their faces towards the sun or their rears towards the wind!
